SORT was established with a single goal in mind — to facilitate efficient commissioning and simplify long-term operation of complex power plants. We sit between the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) world and the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), translating between both sides so that projects start up faster, run more reliably and stay efficient over their entire lifetime. SORT was founded by a team of senior controls engineers with more than two decades of international experience in process automation, working shoulder-to-shoulder with leading EPC and OEM companies at some of the world's largest energy production facilities — from combined-cycle gas turbines and cogeneration plants to large industrial sites.
In 2017 the founding team concluded it was time to take the next step: bringing a fresh way of consulting, driven not by short-term commercial objectives but by a solid technical viewpoint, hands-on plant experience and a deep respect for the people on site. The result is a company that behaves more like a long-term engineering partner than a contractor.
SORT's corporate strategy is to channel the majority of its profits back into operations, training and development. This financial autonomy lets us attract and retain the most skilled engineers, invest continuously in tools and methods, and keep prices competitive — without ever compromising on technical depth or safety.
Above everything, we believe that accelerating execution timelines and minimising downtime is one of the most tangible contributions an engineering team can make to plant performance.
